-
Chelsea On Her Toes
-

-
By Sophfronia Scott Gregory
-

-
Dealing with various crises over the past year, Bill and Hillary
- Clinton have both had to keep their balance while displaying
- some fancy footwork. It's doubtful that either of them has had
- as much fun doing so as their daughter CHELSEA is having right
- now. She is dancing the role of the Favorite Aunt in the Washington
- Ballet's annual Christmastime production of The Nutcracker,
- which opened last week. Chelsea has studied ballet since her
- days in Arkansas, and began regular classes with the Washington
- School of Ballet last September.

-
Crashing The Glass Ceiling
-

-
It's been a man's world for over 350 years, but last week JUDITH
- RODIN broke into the upper echelons of Ivy League management
- when she was chosen as the next president of the University
- of Pennsylvania, the first female to hold such an office in
- the Ivies. Rodin will be faced with increasing Penn's relatively
- low endowment and soothing racial animosity on campus. At least
- she will be on familiar ground: she graduated from Penn in 1966.

-
The Jackson Family Values
-

-
"That damn faggot. I can't stand him." Are those words a mother
- would say of her son? If LaToya Jackson is to be believed, Katherine
- Jackson did--about Michael. Mom denies ever saying such things
- and charges that LaToya's other allegation--that her begloved
- sibling indeed committed "crimes" against children--was the
- result of black sheep son-in-law Jack Gordon's brainwashing.
- "She lies all the time," says patriarch Joe Jackson. LaToya
- admits she has not seen Michael misbehave, but she says her
- mom showed her checks made out to the kids' families. As for
- her family, it has reason to "cover up." Michael, she says,
- "supports every last one of them." Meanwhile, Howard Weitzman,
- Michael's lawyer, says his client may be home by Christmas.
- Or sooner. On Friday, a private blue-and-white Boeing 727 landed
- in Santa Barbara, California. Was Michael back? Said the sheriff's
- office: "All we know is that his plane is at Santa Barbara airport."
